About the Contest

Android Masters is a collegiate inter-school Android app development challenge. It is open to all universities and colleges across the Philippines. The main objective of the program is to encourage students to develop their creative app ideas and publish it to Google Play Store.

  • School entries should be represented by a team of one (1) faculty adviser and up to three (3) students.
  • Teams must completely fill out and submit the Android Masters Application Form. Deadline of application is on September 2, 2018. Stay tuned for the opening of registration.
  • Student participants (senior high school and college level) must be enrolled any time between academic year 2018-2019.
  • Each school can submit multiple entries provided that all of them meet the eligibility criteria/requirement set forth for the Competition.
  • Teams coming from the same school can have the same mentor / faculty adviser.
  • Qualified individuals are allowed to join as many teams they like for this Competition.
  • Teams can either submit a utility/productivity type of application or games.
  • All submitted app entries should be published on the Google Play Store. A separate form will be emailed to all the participants to gather the Google Play Store link of the app. All apps must be published on or before October 20, 2018.
  • Top teams will be shortlisted and announced.

Yes, there are no limits to the number of teams handled by the mentors.

How can we publish our apps?
To publish your apps on Google Play, you need to register for a Google Play developer account. Once registered, you can access the Google Play Developer Console. This is where you will upload and manage your Android apps.
Is there a fee for creating a Google Play developer account?
There is a one-time fee of $25 (less than 1, 250 pesos) for creating an account using a credit card or a debit card. You can you can use GCash MasterCard or SMART Money MasterCard if you do not have a credit nor debit card
Can we update the apps we published and submitted before the deadline?
Yes, you may do so. The evaluation of the apps will start after the deadline of submissions.
